2019 O'pen Bic Worlds Report Below are a few images from the Worlds. At time of posting, we are halfway through the regatta. The wind has been light 4-11 knots and very shifty. Very easy to have bad races. All of the Mounts Bay sailors are performing well and keep improving. Information on the regatta can be found here: https://worlds2019.openbicclass.org/

The 2018 Open Bic State Championship was held last weekend over 2 days in generally strong winds except for 1 heat. 34 Entries split into 21 in the Gold fleet and 13 in the Silver fleet for first-timers. The Bics have an Open Division and an Under 13 category. The racing at the top is pretty serious and included Victorian Champion Hamish Cowell coming over to sharpen up his skills before the Worlds in New Zealand in a couple of weeks. It is very exciting watching these sailors display outstanding technique and skills, really close strategic and tactical racing and then [...]
A great day at Mounts Bay was opened by new Patron Julie Bishop and the sailors headed out in a light 5-10kn South Wester. Good to see the newly updated Windsurfer LT's at the club plus the foiling Windsurfers mixing it up with the Foiling Moths. Also a great fleet of Sharpies and good to see our friends from Perth Dinghy and Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht in the 14's, Javelins. Sabre and Open Bics. Here's a few images from day.
Mounts Bay sailors attended the Annual West Sail 4 day camp and then competed in the WA Youth Championships over the last week. It was a fairly intense few days, with physical training from WAIS coaches at 8:00am and lectures and class training throughout the day, with a fun dinner and other guest speakers at night. Below are a few photos of our Bic sailors at the Youths: Annabelle, Josh, Sam, Ben, and Kaison. The focus now moves to get ready for the season opener on the 6th and then the NZ Worlds in January. Well done to all of to sailors [...]

MBSC Learning & Development (L&D) program launched last season, its coaching structure and development pathway runs classes after school and on Sundays. Sailors aged 7-10 yrs are invited to try out 8.30am for a 9-12 any Sunday, vacancies through the season, numbers are limited. “Coaches deliver better sailing outcomes!” MBSC L&D aims to set a new standard in the way sailing is taught, central to the approach is “active learning” for sailors and the empowerment of coaches to improve outcomes. Learning motivates everyone no matter at what stage of development; novice, club sailor or aspiring champion. A talented list, arguably the [...]
