2019 O’pen Bic Worlds NZ

2019 O'pen Bic  Worlds Report Below are a few images from the Worlds.  At time of posting, we are halfway through the regatta.  The wind has been light 4-11 knots and very shifty.  Very easy to have bad races.  All of the Mounts Bay sailors are performing well and keep improving. Below are a few photos of our Bic sailors at the Youths: Annabelle, Josh, Sam, Ben, and Kaison.  The focus now moves to get ready for the season opener on the 6th and then the NZ Worlds in January. Learning motivates everyone no matter at what stage of development; novice, club sailor or aspiring champion. A talented list, arguably the [...]

MBSC Learning and Development is quite different to scheduled training at other clubs

MBSC was excited to launch its L&D program last season, Five months later it had the largest Bic Fleet in the state, 10 months later 4 of those Bic sailors had invitations to Yachting WA’s elite ‘Westsail’ training camp. So what is it about the L&D program? Scheduled training: 99% of sailing clubs in Australia schedule training where a coach delivers a training session, some for many years, some very special coaches and some not. One of our special coaches is Dave Mann who says he spends a big portion of his time undoing technical problems, very frustrating. MBSC Learning and [...]
