The courses will be conducted in Mudlarks, Optimists and Pacers. Run by Yachting Australia qualified coaches each course provides a structured, safe and fun environment to learn sailing. Courses offered are:
- Basic Skills 1
- Basic Skills 2
- Ready to Race
Become a member at the end of the course and receive a $45 discount on Junior Membership.

Sunday Morning – Juniors

Starting 13 January
10:30am - 12:30pm
The course is run over four consecutive Sunday mornings. Juniors will learn to sail on:
- Mudlarks and Optimists
Coaches are Yachting Australia qualified providing a well structured, safe and fun environment. Courses available are:
- Basic Skills 1
- Basic Skills 2
- Ready to Race.
Cost - $180
Sunday Morning – Adults

Starting 13 January
10:30am - 12:30pm
The course is run over four consecutive Sunday mornings. Adult participants will learn to sail in Pacer Dinghy’s. Adults will learn skills such as:
- Rigging the boat
- Launching
- Returning to the beach
- How to perform basic manoeuvres
Adults will be instructed by Yachting Australia qualified coaches.
Cost - $180
January Holidays
This course is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to dinghy sailing.

July Holidays
These courses are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to dinghy sailing. The first course is a beginners course whilst the second provides and introduction to racing.
Course 1 – Beginners

- Tuesday to Friday
- 9 AM to 3 PM Daily
- Flexibility with times and dates
Participants will learn: about the weather, how to rig the boats, launching and return and basic manoeuvres.
Course 2 – Racing Skills
- 17 – 20 July
- Tuesday to Friday
- 9 AM to 3 PM Daily
This course is designed as an introduction to competitive racing. The sailors will learn about the tactics and strategy of racing and will also have a chance to improve their techniques and boat speed. This course is suitable for the Optimist sailors who have been participating in the Sunday morning training sessions.
$300 per participant
October Holidays
This course is designed as an introduction to competitive racing. The sailors will learn about the tactics and strategy of racing and will also have a chance to improve their techniques and boat speed.
This course is suitable for the sailors who have been participating in our Sunday morning training sessions or who have already completed the learn to sail course

School Program
Mounts Bay Sailing Club has 7 Pacer Dinghy’s available for hire for school curriculum programmes. The club can provide a qualified coach to run the programme if needed.
The club has excellent grounds and facilities to help teachers deliver a quality curriculum programme. Cost is determined by the amount of boats needed and coaching requirements.
